Lieutenant L. B. Davis served in the 60th North Carolina Regiment during the Civil War. The collection contains autographs of Confederate officers imprisoned at Johnson's Island, Ohio, gathered by Davis. Also included are poems by Major George McKnight and a copy of a letter, 16 February 1865, from Davis to friends written when he expected to be executed the following day.
